hello my name is ethan and i like to do drawerings

Ethan LOVES to draw and he is getting really good at it.  It's so fun to see what he comes up with!

This is a tree with an egg in a nest on top, squirrel inside the tree and a bird flying by.

He made this at church after learning about Jonah and the whale.
He drew this sea turtle and octopus when we got back from the aquarium.

One of many machines that Ethan makes.  This machine makes blue balloons.  Gotta love his imagination!

nostalgic bananas

Frozen chocolate covered bananas take me immediately back to my childhood.  Finding one in the back of our deep freeze was like winning the little kid lottery.  I loved the perfect combination of chocolate and banana in all it's frozen yumminess.

When I stumbled upon the Chocolate Banana Pops box at HEB, I couldn't resist getting a box.  The boys and I made them this week and had so much fun. I was just hoping they would like them as much as I do.  You never know if they will even try something new, much less enjoy it.  They ended up chowing them down and begging for more. Mommy doesn't mind buying more and eating more of them either.

6 month pictures

The day I found out I was having a girl, I bought this dress for Lauren.  It makes me so happy to see her in it now!  I love my little girl and cherish every moment with her.  There is something about knowing your family is complete that makes you really enjoy your last baby.  I know some day I will miss her gummy smile, chubby cheeks and sweet coos.  I'm soaking it all in!

rub a dub dub, 3 kids in a tub

We gave the kids a bath together for the first time this week. They all loved it. Lauren loved to sit up in her big seat and splash. The boys were gentle until I took Lauren out, and then they were back to their normal boy behavior in the tub.

What a big girl!

fabric love

I will admit it.  I'm slightly obsessed with fabric.

The good news is, I'm not the only one.  Somehow I managed to find some other friends who like to sew and quilt too!  With all these awesome fabrics, it's so fun and I'm so happy to have friends as obsessed as I am!

My next quilt is going to be fabric from Heather Bailey's Pop Garden.  LOVE it and can't wait to get started on the quilt next week!

My friend Melissa was kind enough to share some of this adorable owl fabric with me. I'm going to make it into a small lap quilt or doll blanket for Lauren.  LOVE the pink and red together!  I may not be able to stop myself from sewing this all together tonight.  I have an extra owl I'm saving for a special project too...

This crinkle square is boxed up and waiting to be mailed to a friend of mine.  It was so much fun to make and I hope her daughter loves it!
I had my quality inspector check it out to ensure it was up to par.  She gave it her seal (or drool) of approval!

P.S.
Thanks to my favorite crafty blog, I'm now currently obsessing over this fabric!

6 months old

Lauren is 6 months old today!

She has changed so much in the last month! She is now sitting up really well.  She likes to roll around and is starting to scoot around on her belly to get things.  She will be crawling before we know it and then we will be in big trouble!  I'm soaking in every minute of this sweet, stationary age.

She still nurses every three to four hours and takes three naps during the day. She naps great during the day with her blankie and pacifier.  I can lay her down awake and she will drift off to sleep from anywhere from one and a half to three hours.  Nothing much has changed about her sleep habits at night unfortunately. She gets a bottle at bedtime around 7 pm, usually wakes up once to eat and wakes up for the day at 7:30. The whole not sleeping through the night thing is getting old, so hopefully she will catch on pretty soon. She is just so sweet during the day, it's kinda hard for me to lay down the law with my baby girl at night.
Lauren's first two bottom teeth are popping out.  She chews on everything!  We started rice cereal 2 weeks ago and she seemed to like it.  She would eat it, but the reflex to push it out with her tongue was still pretty strong.  She just started actually swallowing some yesterday, so now we will be moving on to veggies and fruits.

We love you Lauren and thank God every day that you are part of our family!

6 little cousins

Cowboy Stadium and Hurricane Harbor

Monday we headed to Cowboys Stadium for a tour. The stadium is amazing. The big TV screen alone cost 5 million dollars more than the entire old Texas Stadium.

The one hour toured turned into a two hour tour. The boys did pretty well though and it was worth it to see the locker room and where the Cowboys will run out on the field. Maybe it will make watching football more interesting for me!
The boys wore their bathing suits since we were heading to Hurricane Harbor right after the tour.

Hurricane Harbor was a blast! The boys loved it! The height requirement for some rides was 36 inches and Austin is 37. He was the smallest kid on all the rides and he looked so cute climbing on the huge tubes. They were both so brave and loved all the waterslides. Lauren stayed home with Gege and was loved on all day while we played in the sun.

One mean shark!

Dallas World Aquarium

Sunday we headed over to Dallas World Aquarium with Eric's parents. It was awesome! The boys had a blast seeing birds, fish, sharks, sloths and even a jaguar. It's definitely worth checking out next time you are in Dallas!

Friendly bird

Even friendlier turtles

hometown camping

When Felisha and Jared asked us if we wanted to go camping with them, we were excited at the thought of one last summer camping trip. We were really happy when we found out the trip was to Arlington. Eric's family lives there, so we would get to hang out with them too! Turns out that the campground Felisha picked was less than 10 minutes from Eric's parents' house. It was perfect!

Saturday night Eric took Ethan to see a Rangers vs Red Sox game at Ranger Stadium. Grandaddy went too and they had a great time!

While Eric and Ethan went to the Ranger game, Lauren, Austin and I went to Eric's parent's house. Austin ending up spending the night so he could spend more time with Jake. (Austin calls him Jakers and it's so cute!)

Kai ran his first triathlon Saturday morning and the family went to cheer him on. Austin had fun and felt so big to spend the night with his cousins by himself!
