pinterest love

After seeing some inspiring Family Rules art on Pinterest, I just had to make my own.  One of the kids' picnic tables was on it's last leg, so I had Eric take off the top so I could paint it with our family rules.  I'm so happy with how it turned out and can't wait to hang it in my new laundry room!

Next up on my Pinterest board were mason jar salads.  They last for a week in the fridge and we are already eating more salad in our house.  YUM!

My little assistant was very helpful in assembling the salads.

One of the first things I pinned on Pinterest was a pallet bookshelf.  We happened get a pallet when we put our new floors in, and I knew just what I wanted to make with it.  Eric cut the pallet up for me and I painted and stained this one for Ethan.  I will paint Austin's blue.  I can't wait to see them in the boys' new room!

Next up, a Lego table for the playroom!

bean bags

Growing up, Eric and I both had bean bags and loved them.  Since we will have more room in the new house, we went ahead and got the kids some.  They each got to pick their colors of shiny vinyl goodness.

Ethan chose his favorite color green.

Lauren chose hot pink.

Austin chose blue.  I had to go to three stores to get the different colors, but it was well worth it to see how much they love them!

3rd annual Selvage Sisters weekend

Friday afternoon Erica, Mindy and I jumped in the car and headed to Fredricksburg for our annual Selvedge Sister's weekend.

Along the way we hit up some of our favorite fabric stores, Valli & Kim and The Cotton Cupboard.  The trip to Fredricksburg was just as fun as the time we spent there!

Since some of our Selvage Sisters couldn't make it this year, we had plenty room to spread out in Emilie's Quilt Haus.

Erica and I whipped up this custom baby quilt that was raffled off at the Candlelight Ranch charity auction.

I love how it turned out!

Friday night we went for a stroll and soaked in the gorgeous views and crisp weather.

Saturday morning we slept in until 9:30 and enjoyed breakfast overlooking the Hill Country.  Pretty perfect if you ask me!

Saturday afternoon we headed in to Fredricksburg for more fabric shopping and lunch at Peach Tree Inn.

We stopped in to say hello to the Webbs and taste some of their delicious wines.

I finally finished my I Spy quilt top!  Well, almost...  I'm missing a scrap of fabric about 3 inches square to finish the border.  ARG!

I had a wonderful weekend and I can't wait until next time!  I'm so thankful to have these ladies in my life.

A little R&R was exactly what I needed and it made coming home to my family for Mother's Day that much sweeter.  We spent Sunday afternoon watching the kids play on the waterslide and it was the perfect ending to a amazing weekend!

our Wimberley weekend

This weekend Eric and I loaded up the camper and headed to Wimberley for Market Days.  This time, we left the kids behind with my parents!  The boys had their last soccer games Saturday and we didn't want them to miss it.  My parents so kindly volunteered to keep them all weekend so Eric and I could pop kettle corn and have a weekend together.

Friday we ate the best pizza we've ever had at Brewster's Pizza and the fresh brewed Hefeweizen was so refreshing!

After a long day of popping kettle corn, we relaxed on the patio at Ino's and listened to live music.  It was the perfect way to end our day.

Thank you so much Mom and Dad for taking such great care of the kids!  They had a blast and so did we!

God's timing is perfect

2004

Last week we closed on the sale of our first home.  We had this house built, picked every detail and put lots of effort into making it our home. We lived here for almost 9 years and brought three babies home to it.

The closing was bittersweet.  While we are excited about what lies ahead for us, we will really miss our house and neighborhood.  At one point while we were signing paperwork, the title administrator asked us our forwarding address.  Hmm, good question...  We gave her our parents' address and told her we hadn't found a house yet.

We have been praying for the perfect house for our family and that God would lead us where He wants us.  I'd been obsessively checking my phone every time I received an email just in case a house popped up for us.  With the market being so hot, we knew we would have to move fast.

When a house meeting our criteria popped up, I texted Sammy "It's go time!".  I immediately ran to Eric and told him I found a great house. He had already found it on his search and was looking at it on the tablet!  Sammy and Chris met us at the gorgeous 2800 square foot house sitting on over a third of an acre in a great neighborhood.  It had everything we wanted... Four bedrooms, study, two living spaces, big yard and a nice kitchen.  It even had some things that were more than we had hoped for...  Mud room, study nook for the kids' homework/art supplies, workshop for Eric, greenbelt views and adjoining rooms for the boys.  It was too good to be true.

We tried really hard not to get too excited since we had been burned before.  We put an offer in and waited.  Waited and waited.  Six days later, we still hadn't heard anything and were starting to get discouraged.  We continued to pray that God would put us where He wanted us.

Now back to our closing...
We finished signing paperwork and while the title administrator went to make copies for us, Chris got the email that we got the house!

God's timing is perfect!

We are scheduled to close a week before we move out of this house.  How perfect is that?  God is good!

Austin and Madison's 6th Birthday Party

Saturday was Austin and Madison's 6th Birthday Party!

Austin loves playing with Ninjago Legos and watching the cartoon, so he was very excited to have a Ninjago party!

Madison's side of the room had beautiful butterflies.

Ninjago and Butterflies together?  Sure, why not!
Look at their 3rd birthday party together here and their 2nd birthday here.

The kids loved Hoppin' House!

Happy Birthday Austin and Madison!  We love you!
