Backyard tour

Here's a little tour of our backyard.  It is definitely a work in progress! 




Back patio

 

We use this side yard to play soccer, hit golf balls and throw the baseball.

Our main yard will eventually have a deck coming off the back patio and extending down the house.  Eric fixed the sprinkler system and the sod we layed in July is doing well.  We still need to lay some along the fence. 

We have big plans for the other side yard.  More to come...

"Little Tornado" destroyed the boys' room immediately after they left for school.

Eric and I drank coffee on the back patio and enjoyed the gorgeous cool weather.

The deer stopped by to say hello.

Lauren fell asleep in our bed watching a cartoon.  First time ever! 

Eric mowed the greenbelt.  Shh, it's a secret since it's not allowed in the HOA rules.

Poor Eric couldn't watch football with the kids around.

 

While the boys took a bath, Lauren snuck under Austin's bed and played his DS. She is such a mess!

Soccer season begins

 

Saturday the boys had their first soccer game!  We are excited because they are on the same team and have several friends from school too.

My mom watched the kids last Saturday so Eric and I could pop kettle corn.  They ate ice cream for breakfast and kettle corn for lunch on my mom's watch.  Whatever makes them happy!

Sunday we went to Blue Hole for the first time.  It was gorgeous and the water was ice cold!  We definitely will go back again.

We were happy to be back home after a long weekend in Wimberley.  The deer enjoyed the leftover kettle corn we fed them!

Lauren's room

Lauren loves her room.  If you ask her what her room looks like, she says "pink".  We plan on painting the walls a neutral khaki since the pink curtains already cast a pink glow to the entire room.

My grandparents made this dollhouse for me when I was a little girl. I updated the wallpaper by modge podging my favorite fabrics on the walls.  Eric added wood floors from our old house to jazz it up a little.

I filled the second floor with framed art (aka fabric scraps of my favorite fabrics).

 

 

Nanny embroidered her name for me.  So sweet!

 And just to keep it real, my little Tornado's room usually looks like this.  When we clean it, she tells me she likes it better messy.  What a handful!

Austin Cade 6 1/2

Austin is such a cool kid.  When Ethan was absent from school for 3 days, he jumped on the school bus alone and didn't think twice.  He is independent, thoughtful, funny and energetic.

Did I mention funny?

We sure love our sweet boy!

Ethan Reid 7 1/2

Our biggest boy is getting so big.  He loves Legos, playing games on the tablet, drawing and helping his Daddy with yard work.  He is settling into his new school well and is already playing Ninjago on the playground with his new friends.    

When I asked him to act like his favorite Smurf, he did his best impression of Brainy Smurf.  Kid has been playing way to much Smurf Village on the tablet!

After being sick with strep last week and missing three days during the first week of school, Ethan went back to school yesterday.  Then, this morning he woke up with a rash on his back.  When he got off the school bus today, he was covered in a rash!

Apparently he has a "sensitivity" to amoxicillan.  He got the same rash when he was younger, so now we know.  Poor kiddo!

Lauren's first day of school

Today was Lauren's first day of school!  She is going to the same school as last year, but this year she will be in the 3 year old classroom.

She got to bring something for Show and Tell, so she decided to bring her pink flamingo and tell about seeing flamingos at the zoo.

She wanted to carry all her stuff in by herself.  Such a big girl!

We love her teacher Ms. Denise and her son Jackson is one of Lauren's favorites.  It was a great morning and I'm pretty excited about having all three kids in school two days a week!
