8 months old
Lauren is 8 months old today!
She has changed so much this month! She now alternates between crawling on her hands and knees and army crawling. She is definitely mobile! She is starting to invade the boys' toys, but they don't seem to mind too much.
Lauren has two bottom teeth and one top tooth about to pop through. She loves yogurt, fruit and puffs, but will tolerate eating veggies and cereal.
She is a great little napper. She takes a two hour nap at 9 and 1 and usually a short nap around 5. Our little sweetie sleeps through the night now! We usually put her to bed around 7 and she sleeps until around 7 in the morning! WOO HOO!

fun recipe cards
I found these cute recipe cards and just had to make one. It's easy to add text to the cards at Picnik. You could print these out at home and they are super cute!
Since nothing says fall like chicken pot pie, I had to share my super easy, super yummy recipe. Enjoy! For more yummy recipes, be sure to check out Hungry Mommas!

Happy Birthday Sherry!
Since I'm such a good sister, I won't say how old my sister Sherry turns today. I will however, add the link to the post I wrote her on her 40th birthday two years ago. :)
Sherry, thanks for being such a supportive, loving sister and friend. I love you!

Sweet Berry Farms 2009
Yesterday Sam and I loaded up the kids and headed to Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls. The kids had a blast feeding goats, posing with pumpkins and eating homemade icecream. The weather was beautiful and so much better than last year when I ran through the muddy maze 5 months pregnant while carrying Austin. What a difference a year makes!

Lauren's baby dedication
Lauren had her baby dedication two Sundays ago at our new church. It was so nice! They had professional photographers take our family pictures.
My parents and Eric's parents came in town to celebrate and they were able to go on stage with us for the dedication. After we stood in front of the church and committed to raising Lauren in a Christian home, an elder in the church prayed with our family. It meant a lot to us and it was so special to have our parents with us.
We love you Lauren!

on the move!
Our little sweetie is crawling.
Today she went from sitting up to crawling and I caught it in these pictures! She proceeded to crawl around the living room and even tried to get the electrical plug. Guess it's time to vamp up our baby proofing! Life as we have known it is about to change in a big way!

wood art
Inspired by Pottery Barn's Painted Piece Woodwork and a replica Sammy's dad made for her, my Dad, Eric and I decided to make our own.
I made up the design on an Excel spreadsheet. Each square represented a square inch. We decided to make it 36 inches by 48 inches. My sweet dad cut out all 178 pieces! What a great daddy I have!
Eric framed it up and painted all the pieces brown.
I hand painted and distressed each piece. It was so fun to put it all together and make my own wooden quilt!
Eric and I are still debating on if we want to frame it or leave it unframed. We are both really happy with it and it definitely adds some color to our living room!

Chocolate G-O-O-O-O-D
When I stumbled across this monster shirt, I knew Austin had to have it. He loves chocolate and he loves monsters.
I love that he got his new shirt covered in chocolate. How very appropriate!

the best day
I came across this video that Taylor Swift made for her mom and thought it might be fun to watch. By the end of it I was boo hooing like a baby. It is so sweet and made me think of everything from my happy childhood growing up, to my sweet little babies sleeping in the other room.
Today my dad goes in for surgery. Please keep in your prayers. I love you Dad! Thanks for all your support and love!

Ink's Lake
This picture sums up some of the reasons we love camping...
Kids having a blast.
Eric and I kicking back relaxing.
Taking in the beautiful scenery and cool weather.
Soaking it all in.
Kirby loves camping too. She nearly jumped in the water to get the ducks.
The kids loved feeding the giant, creepy carp dog food off the dock.
We fed ducks off the pier and Lauren went on her first wagon ride.
Believe it or not, they weren't posing for this picture. They were looking at the ducks and I snuck up on them to snap a picture. I sure love all my boys.
Lauren was a happy camper. She took great naps and loved being outside.
This little girl already has daddy wrapped around her finger.
We had the best time spending time together as a family and I feel truly blessed.

Day out with Thomas 2009
Saturday we took the kids to see Thomas the Train in Burnet. We had a great time taking a 20 minute train ride on Thomas, petting animals in the petting zoo and watching a magic show.
The kids were so excited to have Madison, Adam, Vivian and Julius with them.
Lauren enjoyed the train ride and the conductor didn't mind too much that she chewed on her ticket.
