Easter 2011
After we spent the morning playing with the Easter basket goodies, we decided to spend the day with family at Fiesta Texas. The weather was gorgeous and it wasn't crowded at all. There were tons of rides for the kids to ride and we had so much fun!
Lauren ran right up to all the characters to give them a hug. If you know Lauren, you know this was pretty shocking!
The boys loved the rides, but I'm afraid Ethan might have inherited his daddy's tummy.
Ride em cowboy!
Lauren carried her Easter ducky around the entire day at Fiesta Texas. It was so cute! We had the best time until I got stung by a bee and a door ripped my toenail off all within 5 minutes. Oh well, it was a great day and it was wonderful to celebrate Easter with my family!

the Riverwalk
This year we celebrated Easter with my sister's family and my parents in San Antonio. On our way south, Eric and I couldn't resist stopping to grab a bite at Gristmill. We love the food and enjoy taking the kids to the place where we met.
We stayed at the Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk. A pool, free cocktails during happy hour, omelet breakfasts and two separate rooms in our suite sold me.
We took a riverboat tour of the Riverwalk. It was gorgeous and we really enjoyed it.

April 21st
Thursday was Austin's birthday and boy was it a busy day! Austin had an Easter party at his preschool with all his friends. I brought up some cupcakes and we celebrated his birthday too.
Ethan had an Easter egg hunt too with his kindergarten class. They walked to the nearby park to hunt, play and eat a picnic lunch. Ethan was so excited his sister came to enjoy it with him.

Erica's birthday 5k
We started off Erica's birthday weekend bright and early at the Zoomba 5K at Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop. We couldn't believe it when the car temperature gauge read 39 degrees. It was freezing, but we quickly warmed up once the race started.
It was a gorgeous race course and it felt great to run a 5k again. After the race, we took advantage of the free wine and massages. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back next year to run it again.
After the race we drove in to Bastrop for lunch and fabric shopping. The fabric store was a bust, but lunch was fantastic. We celebrated our big run by chowing down on chicken fried chicken at Gracie's. The food was delish and we had a great time sitting outside listening to live music.
Hyatt Lost Pines was amazing! The pools, lazy river, green space, Colorado river, animals and views were gorgeous. I cannot wait to go back someday with my family.
The surf and turf dinner buffet was worth every penny, especially the dessert buffet. Everything we ate at the resort was delicious.
I had the best time with these ladies and I'm so fortunate to have such great friends in my life!
Happy Birthday Erica!

Ethan's Crowe's Nest Farm field trip
Friday was Ethan's first field trip! His kindergarten class visited Crowe's Nest farm in Manor.
It was Ethan's very first time on a school bus and he was very excited.
The kids watched a short video about the farm and learned about all the animals.
They even got to see how to milk a cow!
Ethan and Vivian had fun on the hay ride.
It was a fun field trip and I'm so glad I got to enjoy it with Ethan!

10 on 10
Ten on Ten: 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}
The boys started off the 10th day of April playing Uno with Grandma. Eric was out of town living it up at Nascar, so Grandma and Grandpa came over to help. I was very grateful for their help this weekend! I'm not sure I could have survived Saturday Sports day without them.
Legos are always a hit at our house. The Lego sorter head Ethan got for his birthday works great!
Lauren LOVES to sit on my dad's lap and read books.
Fried ham anyone? (Ethan's idea)
I'm in full party planning mode for Austin's 5 birthday.
Backyard fun!
I filled up a bucket with leaves and weeds from our flower beds. We are laying mulch and planting new plants and flowers. I love spring!
Lauren helped us spread the mulch.
Eric got a new job at Dell! He works from home several days a week and no longer has a permanent desk at work, so we now have an abundance of picture frames and lucite. I'm so proud of Eric and know he will do great in his new role!
It was a fun Sunday and we are all so happy to have Daddy back home!
