Remind me...
never to allow this guy
in this store
or he will come home with some crazy gadget like this!
The boys loved the flying remote controlled dragonfly even though it is super creepy. I'm not a fan of the giant, flapping wings. Yuck!

I give up
I am no longer going to attempt to take a nap during the day. It's too frustrating to even try anymore. Here are some things that have woken me up during my attempted naps this week:
- Lauren grunting in her sleep.
- Lauren tooting in her sleep.
- Lauren waking up to eat every 3 hours.
- My boobs waking me up to feed Lauren every 3 hours.
- The dog kicking the wall in her sleep as she dreams she is chasing rabbits or whatever dogs dream about.
- Ethan refusing to nap.
- Austin refusing to nap.
- More tooting. (Lauren, not me)
- More grunting.
- Text message beeps.
- Phone calls. (Phone has to be left on in case the preschool calls)
- Norman the fish hitting the aquarium so loudly for food it actually wakes me up.
- UPS deliveries.
- Cat meowing.

hellava hail
It hailed something awful here tonight. It was unlike anything I've ever seen in my 32 long years. It wasn't the size of the hail that was amazing, it was the amount of hail. It came down in thick sheets of ice.
The boys didn't seem to mind the hail at all and Lauren slept right through it some how even though the sound was deafening. It was just what we needed though to pound the dirt in the yard!

one month old
She is becoming more alert and likes to look at lights, her play gym toys and especially her big brothers. She eats every three hours during the day and every four hours at night. She likes being swaddled and sucking on her Gumdrop pacifier when she goes to bed. She just started spitting up a couple times a day. Her brothers spit up after every feeding, so we can definitely handle a couple times a day! She has started the famous grunting that our boys had at night. She still sleeps in the bassinet, but she is quickly on her way out since it's hard for us to sleep through the noises. I've told her grunting isn't ladylike, but she hasn't listened yet. :)
Lauren had been such a good baby and she brings us so much happiness. We may be sleep deprived, but we are loving every minute with her!

dirty boys
We split a trailer full of dirt with our neighbors to put in our yards this weekend. The kids had a blast playing on it. They had HOURS of entertainment. I'm seriously considering buying dirt for our backyard this summer. Ha!
Our little sweetie spent the day lounging in her moses basket and wasn't too interested in the dirt yet. Maybe next year.

bows!
Anyone who knows me knows I've always dreamed of having a little girl. A little girl named Lauren with a bow in her hair.
I quickly learned that it's hard to get a bow on a newborns head when they don't have a full head of hair. My friend Becky solved the problem for me. KY Jelly. Yes, seriously. I made some tiny bows out of ribbon and add a tiny glob of KY to Lauren's head. A couple minutes later the KY dries and voila, a cute bow stuck relatively securely to her head. I love it!

bye bye maternity clothes
I cleaned the maternity clothes out of my closet for the last time. Ever. To some this may seem trivial, but all those mothers out there know exactly what I mean. No longer will I have tubs of clothes stored in my closet that I can't wear. I will now have enough hangers to hang all my clothes. I can't tell you how good it feels to have them all gone. Now I can pass them on to someone else and concentrate on building up my mom of three kids wardrobe.

Lego boys
Every day they get out their bucket of Legos and play...
and play... and play.
For hours and hours!
Eric's mom saved his Legos from when he was little, so they have quite a collection. Our little engineer Ethan is great with building things like his Daddy.
We are enjoying the Legos for now. Not sure how it's going to go when Lauren is crawling around trying to eat them though!

moses basket
My friend Samantha let me borrow her beautiful moses basket to use with Lauren. We use it all the time, so I thought I'd get some shots of the basket she loves to spend so much time in.
Austin and Ethan both came in the room at separate times during our photo shoot. Each of them both gave Lauren unprompted kisses. Ethan told her she was a pretty girl and Austin told her she was a good girl. She sure is one lucky girl to have such great big brothers!

Talking with God
The other day while Austin was taking a nap and Ethan was playing with legos, Eric heard Ethan talking to someone.
Eric - "Who are you talking to Ethan?"
Eric - "Who are you talking to Ethan?"
Ethan - "God. I'm asking Him if He wants to play with me, but He's not here."
Eric - "Well, just because you can't see Him doesn't mean He is not here. God's always with us."
Ethan - "I know! God is in my heart. Is He in your heart Daddy?"
Eric - "Well, just because you can't see Him doesn't mean He is not here. God's always with us."
Ethan - "I know! God is in my heart. Is He in your heart Daddy?"
Eric - "Yes He is!"

Jenn's visit
Eric's sister and her family drove in Saturday morning to meet Lauren. Abby, Jake and Emily were so cute with her. They each took turns holding her and could barely keep their hands off her.
The kids had a great afternoon playing outside together. I sure wish we lived closer so we could see each other more often!
Ethan and Austin decided they wanted to pretend to be babies like Lauren. Eric swaddled them up and the girls held them. It was really funny! We are so glad Jennifer and the kids came to visit! They spent 6 hours in the car that day just to come see us and we are so glad they did!
