Ethan Reid 7 1/2

Our biggest boy is getting so big.  He loves Legos, playing games on the tablet, drawing and helping his Daddy with yard work.  He is settling into his new school well and is already playing Ninjago on the playground with his new friends.

When I asked him to act like his favorite Smurf, he did his best impression of Brainy Smurf.  Kid has been playing way to much Smurf Village on the tablet!

After being sick with strep last week and missing three days during the first week of school, Ethan went back to school yesterday.  Then, this morning he woke up with a rash on his back.  When he got off the school bus today, he was covered in a rash!

Apparently he has a "sensitivity" to amoxicillan.  He got the same rash when he was younger, so now we know.  Poor kiddo!

Lauren's first day of school

Today was Lauren's first day of school!  She is going to the same school as last year, but this year she will be in the 3 year old classroom.

She got to bring something for Show and Tell, so she decided to bring her pink flamingo and tell about seeing flamingos at the zoo.

She wanted to carry all her stuff in by herself.  Such a big girl!

We love her teacher Ms. Denise and her son Jackson is one of Lauren's favorites.  It was a great morning and I'm pretty excited about having all three kids in school two days a week!

not so wordless Wednesday

3 kids
3 antibiotics for strep
3rd day of school absence

Boys decided they wanted to ride the bus to and from school.  We weren't sure if we wanted them to ride the bus, but they love it!  (Ethan helped me edit this picture to look neon)

Lauren and I have had some girl time since the boys are in school.  She got a manicure, hair wash, cut and blow dry.  She loved it!  I love my little girly girl!

First day of school 2012

Today was the first day of school!  The boys were excited and nervous about going to a new school.  They had no problem waking up at 6:15 because they were excited to see what the Tooth Fairy had left under Austin's pillow.

Much to our surprise, the boys decided they wanted to ride the bus!

We walked them to the bus stop that's about 4 houses down.

They were excited!

We met them up at the school and walked them into their classrooms.  All went well!

WOO HOO!

Fort Worth Zoo

Last weekend we took a trip to Arlington to spend some time with Eric's family.  Saturday we took the kids to the Fort Worth Zoo.

The animals were out and about!

Ethan on a termite hill.

Abby and Lauren look so much alike to me!

The kids rode the carousel.

Eric enjoyed it too.

We had a great time at the zoo and the kids can't wait to go back!

leapin' lizards!

These little lizards made the journey all the way from Arlington.

They are now living it up in Round Rock!

Snake Farm

A while back, Carrey and I loaded up the kids and drove to the Snake Farm in New Braunfels.

They loved the petting zoo.

Ethan liked the mini pig.  It reminded us all of Morgan.

After touring the outside zoo, we checked out the snakes.

I really do not care for snakes, but the kids liked them.

It was a successful trip to the Snake Farm and I'm happy to have it checked off our list!

Papa

Papa, Eric's grandfather, passed away 2 weeks ago.  I've had the hardest time trying to write about his passing.  My grandpa passed away when I was a little girl and when I met Papa, I was thankful to have a grandfather figure in my life again.

Eric was proud to be a pallbearer and speak at the funeral.  So many people came to pay their respects to Papa and I know he was smiling down on us from Heaven.

Papa was a DPS Highway Patrolman for over 30 years.  He was a great provider for his family and the love between him and Nanny was an inspiration to all who knew them.

We love you Papa and will miss you dearly!
