Our whirlwind weekend

Our whirlwind weekend began Friday night when we loaded up the camper and headed to Wimberley. By the time we had set up everything and put the boys in their beds it was 8 pm. Our camper has bunk beds and they LOVE them. It always takes them a long time to fall asleep the first night because they have so much fun playing. By 9:45, Austin was asleep and Ethan was looking out his window waiting for his Gege and Granddaddy to show up. We told him they weren't coming this time, but he still was waiting just in case. The next morning Eric set up the booth and I got the boys ready. We had a great time shopping, eating popcorn and playing in the booth.

At 10:30, the boys and I hopped in the car and headed to Ethan's soccer game an hour and fifteen minutes away. Eric had to stay and run the booth, but we didn't want to miss Ethan's very first game. Thankfully my parents were there to help with Austin. Three year old soccer is very entertaining. Two of the eight kids were little naturals and the rest were clinging to their parents' legs. Ethan was most happy when he was drinking from his new water bottle.

After the game, we headed back to Wimberley to hang out with Eric's family and have a fish fry. His aunt, uncle, cousins and their kids were all there. It was really fun and the kids had a great time playing. Ethan and Lane were born one week apart and it was really cute to see them together!

Sunday afternoon we headed over to Gruene for some lunch at The Gristmill. Eric and I met there almost 10 years ago and it's our favorite place to eat. The weather was perfect on the river deck, the food was awesome as always and the kids were in great moods. They had so much fun running around the beer garden and it was so nice to hang out together as a family.

  1. That looks like it was a great weekend! You guys sure are busy on the weekends! Isn't it funny going back to places from a different time in your lives. You remember yourself the way you were, not the way you are (with 2 little kids running around). Who would have thought!
