Our closet renovation

Spring Break 2015 was spent updating our closet.  Exciting huh?  

Eric's parents came in town to help tackle this huge project.  Our closet was big, but poorly organized.  It only had one hanging rack that went all the way around and there was 4 feet of wasted space at the top.

 

We bought Ikea shelving and dressers to use as the base pieces.

We are loving our new closet!   We have more room for hanging clothes and it's so much more organized.  Thank you to Jan and Leon for coming in town to help with this project!!

Interview with a 9 year old - Ethan

Happy 9th Birthday Ethan!  We love you so much!

Austin tooth removal

Ethan and Austin both had extra baby teeth.  Ethan had two extra baby teeth and Austin had one extra baby tooth and one extra permanent tooth. 

 

When one of Austin's top teeth wasn't coming in, his dentist sent us to an oral surgeon to see if he needed the extra tooth extracted.  The extra looked crazy! 

The oral surgeon recommended pulling one baby tooth and extracting the extra top tooth so the real tooth will be able to come down.  Austin was calm and handled it all so well!

He did awesome and was climbing trees hour after the surgery.   That's our boy! 

Waco road trip

I love the show Fixer Upper, so Erica, Jackie and I decided to do a day trip to Waco for a day of fun! We went to Magnolia and a couple other fun stores before eating a delicious lunch on the lake.

We had the best time and can't wait to go back to Waco to shop!

First day of school 2014

 

 Today was a big day!  It was the first day of school for all three of our kiddos! 

 

Ethan is in fourth grade!  Not sure how that happened!  

 

Austin will be in third!

 

Our baby girl is in kindergarten! 

 They all chose what they wanted to wear.  Lauren loves kitties, so a kitty dress was perfect for her.  Austin is our soccer guy, so he chose a soccer t shirt.  I bought Ethan a new green shirt to wear, but our little comedian thought it would be funny to wear his "My monster ate my homework" shirt on the first day of school since there is no homework.  Funny kid!

They were so excited!  I set my alarm for 6 and the boys were already dressed and putting on their shoes when I got up.  We left for the bus stop at 6:55 and it was still dark outside.

They jumped on the bus happy as could be! 

 

She was so excited to ride on the bus with her friends Madi and Cooper!

 

We met them at the school to walk them into class.

 

We literally had to make them wait for us because they were about to just go happily to their classes! 

 

Lauren's new teacher is so sweet.  I hope she's ready for feisty Lauren!

 

Austin's teacher is so nice.  He didn't like me taking his picture, but he let me.  Ethan did not!  Oh well, it was a wonderful first day of school and we are so proud of our kids! 

Now to enjoy my day!  Maybe now I will blog more than once every couple months!

BBQ Cookoff

Every summer Eric's parents take the kids for a week to stay at their house.  The kids LOVE it!  They spent time swimming, doing crafts, going to movies and hanging out with their cousins.

Since Eric and I were kid free, we loaded up the camper and went to Fredricksburg for some fun! 

Jackie and Chris met us there Friday.  Jackie and I went shopping and made new friends. 

 Eric and I had never been to Lukenbach.  It was cool!

Friday night we went to Bikinis, TX for more fun.  There atmosphere is great!  We heard an awesome duo perform and I even got to sing on stage with them.

Saturday we hung out all day at Bikinis and participated in our first BBQ cookoff.  Felisha and Jared have an awesome pit they used to slow cook the meat on all night and day.

 Felisha cooked chicken and brisket while Eric smoked ribs.

Jackie and I tasted it all to make sure it was up to par.

In the end, Felisha won first place for her chicken, second place for brisket and Eric got second place for ribs.  Not to bad!  It was so much fun!

My friend Jackie and I share the same birthday, so we have celebrated together the last two years.  I refuse to divulge who is younger...  We spent our birthdays shopping and went home to celebrate with our families.  

 

My mom and dad brought me my favorite coconut cream pie from Monument cafe to celebrate.  Yum!

 

The next night we met up with friends to celebrate!  First we had appetizers and drinks at Z Tejas.

We ended up at Quinn's for karaoke.  It was so fun!

That weekend we went camping without kids!  It was weird and wonderful.  We relaxed and hung out on a pontoon boat with our hubbies and friends.

 

It was an amazing birthday and I'm so thankful for my family and friends!!

 

Spring break 2014

 

For Spring Break this year, we loaded up the camper and headed to the Frio River.

 

It was beautiful!  (Filled with college kids, but beautiful)

The kids loved splashing around catching minnows.

One afternoon we went to John Jimmy's to watch live music and a hog sacking contest.  It was so fun to watch!

Ethan and Austin joined in on the hog sacking fun!  The captured and bagged their baby hog in 27 seconds.  We were so proud of our city boys!

Foxy Lauren

Roxy did great on her first camping trip.  We quickly realized she needs a trim before her next.

It was a fun Spring Break on the Frio! 

Lauren's 5th Birthday Rainbow Dash Party!

We celebrated Lauren's 5th Birthday with a Rainbow Dash party!  She knew she was going to have ponies in our backyard, but she did not expect to see a rainbow unicorn.  She was so happy!

 

The rainbow cupcakes were a big hit with the kids.

Lauren got to ride all the ponies.  Poor Felisha was leading Lauren and the horse kept trotting.  Felisha had no idea it was because Lauren was kicking the horse!  Our sweet Lauren is a firecracker!
